Mrs. Jyotsna Brar is proud to refer to herself essentially as a Teacher. She won laurels in academics, public speaking and dramatics in school and in university, completing her Post-Graduation in English, with Linguistics, at the top of her class from Punjab University.
She taught Geography, English Language, English Literature, and Environmental Science at the high school level for well over thirty years till the day she retired in 2016.
Mrs. Jyotsna Brar took over as Principal of Welham Girls’ School, Dehradun, in 2000, and served in that capacity for sixteen years till she retired. During her tenure the school retained the 1st place among girls’ boarding schools in the Education World rankings.

Widely respected for his humility, integrity and gravitas, Mr. Vinay Pande embodies the purity in education that every parent and student longs for and that every teacher aspires to.
Mr. Vinay Pande taught at The Lawrence School, Sanawar from 1989 to 1997 within the CBSE curriculum. Thereafter, he served at The Doon School, Dehradun for 16 years in various roles including Housemaster, IBDP Coordinator and Senior Deputy Headmaster, wherein he oversaw, among other functions, academics that included IBDP, IGCSE and CISCE. He went on to become the Founding Headmaster of Sarala Birla Academy, Bengaluru and then served as the Headmaster of The Lawrence School, Sanawar.
ABOUT THE FOUNDER
AKSHIT BATRA
Akshit Batra studied at The Doon School, Dehradun followed by Hansraj College at Delhi University and then secured an MBA from ISB, Hyderabad. He also did a short stint as an exchange student at St. Edwards School in Oxford, England.
A two time TEDx speaker, Akshit is an international bilingual debater and MUNer and does stand up comedy in his spare time. He was the youngest Indian delegate at the World Summit on Sustainable Development in Johannesburg, South Africa. His outstanding impact at the Summit earned him felicitation from the then President of India, Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, at the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
While at The Doon School, he was awarded the Gold Medal with distinction by the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. He won various national and international debates that earned him The Doon School’s prestigious Scholars’ Blazer along with double English Debating Colours as well as Hindi Debating Colours. He was also part of the Founding Team of MUN at The Doon School. Academically on top of his Class, Akshit’s consistent all-round performance secured him the prestigious General Proficiency Award twice at The Doon School and the coveted Torch Bearer Award upon graduating from ISB.

Mrs. Jyotsna Brar has been serving on the Governing Bodies of some of the country’s most respected boarding schools and has been a member of the CBSE and the Examinations Committee of the Council for the ISCE. She served as Chairperson of the Indian Public Schools’ Conference, of which she remains an Honorary Member. She is also on the Governing Councils of two establishments for persons with disabilities. She has been serving on the Academics Committee of a residential school for girls from economically weaker rural families of Uttarakhand.
She is the recipient of the Pride of Uttarakhand Award, the Indian Public Schools’ Conference Lifetime Achievement Award and the NDTV-Educomp Lifetime Achievement Award.
After her superannuation, Mrs. Jyotsna Brar has been holding talks and training programmes covering topics such as Understanding Adolescence, Teacher-Student Motivation, Counselling and Discipline, Classroom Pedagogy, Language Teaching, and various other educational aspects.
Mrs. Brar lives with her husband in Dehradun and by virtue of her presence in the city continues to add to Dehradun its original, unadulterated charm.
